:: The Big Number 5 ::
I don’t know whether to cry or smile at the fact that my baby is turning The Big Number 5 today! Haven’t we figured out how to freeze time yet? I really wish we could, as I would keep her at this age! She is in love with so many things right now. She is our sweet heart and makes friends with everyone she meets. She definitely has stolen our hearts.
Madeline was born on Easter Sunday. She came into this world with the sweetest disposition. I truly believe God sent her to us just the way she is. She has the patience of a saint. Her birth came right after we had started a busy speech and ABA therapy schedule for Mason. We were running around to various places, and she would go along for the ride content in her baby carrier or car seat. She has always been right by my side. She has smiled, listened, and held my hand tight along the way. She understands and “gets” her brother and looks up to him very much. Everything he does, she wants to do right there with him. Madeline has been our rock, our happiness, and our girl! I can’t believe she is 5.
Though she acts a lot like me, admires her brother, wants to marry her Daddy, and sings about Jesus, we try hard to let her be her own spirit. At 5 you bet she has a list of her current favorite things:
- Horses….she wants one or two or maybe four! She just enjoyed her first “real” horse ride on Thursday with Butterscotch.
- My Little Pony {just as much as I did} her favorite pony changes weekly from Twilight Sparkle to Rainbow Dash. This week it might be Rarity.
- Sweets…who knew? I haven’t the slightest clue where she got that from {wink}.
- Friends. She loves making them and having friends. She very much likes talking to people.
- The colors pink and purple.
- She wants to only wear a “ba-kini” {bikini} this summer, though Mommy knows it’s a sun burn waiting to happen.
- Anything that has to do with Frozen. Especially the most wanted Elsa costume from The Disney Store {don’t get me started on that, it’s a whole other blog post}.
Though she is growing like a weed, and she will be taller than me by second grade, she will always be my baby. My love and advice to you my dear Madeline is:
“Hold your head high and don’t be be afraid to march to the front of your own parade. If you’re still my small babe or you’re all the way grown, my promise to you is you’re never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star…and my love will find you wherever you are.”-Nancy Tillman
Happy Birthday Madeline!!!
